Approximately 3 years experience working at an eighty thousand bird, free range facility to include both multitiered and flat deck systems. I have been an active part of two full wash down periods, the second of which I over saw the managing of up to six other members of staff. As biosecurity is a high priority, I lead by example in attention to detail of cleanliness and was responsible for the use of chemicals and the disposal of any dirty water. I also cooperated and liaised with several different contractors on site, ensuring they understood one another despite language barriers. The mental and physical welfare of all the livestock on site is my highest priority.

She is also experienced with the packaging of eggs and is very much involved with country living as a whole. Between us we have one very well behaved labrador, he is brilliant with all livestock. In my spare time I am an active member and leader of a scout group locally. I take pride in giving the children, between the ages of ten and a half and eighteen, a fun activity to take part in as well as ensuring everyone is safe. I also throughly enjoy all other aspects of outdoor life, especially canoeing, kayaking, horse riding and shooting.

Farming background

I currently work as a poultry farming assistant, where I have attained my telehandler and scissor lift licenses. My main duties include looking after the welfare of the birds on the site, daily checks on water and feed, checking the weights of the birds on a regular basis and ensuring the birds in the unit are in good health. The up keeping of all the sites bio security rules and regulations are a high priority. As of now I feel proficient in the daily running of the farm, and would be enthusiastic to learn about different methods of maintaining healthy stock to maximise productivity. Other duties I carry out around the units include: Checking and repairing perimeter fencing and surrounding headland and grass land. Maintenance of machinery Handling deliveries and collections on site. Liaising with management to organise jobs for agency workers. Removal of muck from sheds on a weekly basis. Nightly checks of all sheds Responding to alarm calls from poultry unit systems Designated site first aider Managing wash down of 5 sheds both multitier and flat deck Tractor and trailer driving I worked for E.H Crow as a farm hand, my duties included helping in the running of the potato grading shed, the loading of the lorries that came to collect the potatoes. I was solely in charge of putting the potatoes into stores, helping in the maintenance of the machinery and the briefing agency workers on health and safety and divvying out daily duties. I worked for gap personnel as a general labourer working on a few different sites, mostly farm work, from cleaning chicken sheds to potato grading.
