Farming background

While working as a police officer, opportunity came up to work in America on 6,000 acre arable and 700 head beef cattle farm with a custom harvest crew. I grabbed the opportunity and have never looked back, worked there for 3 and a half years doing all sowing(Wheat, soya beans, oats), calving, and working with custom harvesting crew (harvesting wheat, barley, soya beans, OSR, sunflowers and peas) with the most up to date technology. While being cattle man in the winter period. Gained lots of GPS experience and understand the importance of variable rates and precision farming. Had two 3 month breaks, one spent working on 6,000 almond farm in Australia operating, pick-up harvester, sweeper and shaker. The other three months was spent working on an arable and beef farm in Scotland. Return from America in July 2014.
