Other equipment experience

Early Teen Years spent time working on a Dairy Farm and Local Farm Shop/Butchers.

Trained City and Guilds Level 2 Ag Engineer and served as an Ag Engineer, mainly based on Sprayers. All makes, but mainly Bateman.

Had a Break from Ag Engineer, Got my CPCS Cards for Ag Tractor and 360 Excavator Above and Below 10 Tonnes plus Lifting Ops. Had 2 years on excavators, but decided construction/civils work wasn't for me, although i do still enjoy operating them.

Then I took a job in Norfolk on a 4500acre Arable/AD/Haulage Farm as there Farm Workshop Fitter. But, because of my sprayer background they put me through PA1 and PA2 and i became there 2nd sprayer man. And ended up doing all sorts, Hedgecutting, Chaser bin, Crawler/Quadtrac driving etc.

The one job i really wanted was drilling, and that wasn't going to happen in Norfolk, so i applied for a job in Lincolnshire on an Arable/Potato Operation as Main Sprayer/Main drill Man.

Other livestock experience

Have worked on dairy farm during secondary school, feeding, mucking out, bedding down, calving, feeding calves, dehorning. I have milked but not on a regular basis and what seems a long time ago. Also during my teenage years I helped out at weekends on a mixed farm that had a farm shop/butchers, with poultry, pigs and beef herd. Occasional weekend helping step father on farm where he works with pig unit, mainly driving bobcat, feeding, cleaning out and loading out pigs.

Farming background

Trained as a City and Guilds level 2 qualified agricultural service engineer, served with 3 dealerships in Shropshire to gain experience on different kinds of machinery over a 6 year period. Alongside this I've used my holidays to work on local arable farms to boost operational credentials. And as said above work on stock farms as teenager. I've worked for 1 employer on groundwork and civil engineering - reason for leaving, too far to travel and had to get another job closer to home. And also working for second small groundwork company in the Shropshire area. 18 months working on large arable farm with other enterprises in Norfolk. Currently in Lincolnshire on 3000 acre arable farm growing mainly potatoes.
