Assistant herdperson to join our family farming buisiness in Wiltshire.  We farm three block calving herds across three sites, two autumn blocks and one spring block totaling 850 cows plus followers.  We are looking for someone to work with the herdsman at one of the aumtumn block untits milking 240 cows through a new 24/48 Waikato parlour. Over the past 12 months we have heavily invested in two new sheds, milking parlour, cattle handling, cubicles and youngstock housing to make the farm as efficient as possible and to make the day to day jobs easier.  The herd graze from February to November across a paddock system with cow tracks, producing as much milk as possible from grazed grass in the spring/summer and home grown forage through the winter.



We would like the right person to be able to work as a team member, have willingness to learn and desire to acheive, attention to detail maintaining high standards, milking experience, a good eye for animal health and welfare.



Training will be provided for the right candidate. This could be telehandler, heat deection, AI, foot trimming, grazing managment, basic record keeping to name a few.



Milking shared with the herdsman doing at least one milking a day.



Every other weekend off, also an afternoon off after your weekend worked. This works out as 11.5 on with 2.5 off over 14 days. 28 days holiday including bank holidays per year.
