Positions available for a competent Herdsperson, Assistant Herdsperson, competent Tractor Driver/ Stocksperson/ Relief Milker & Relief Milkers. Jobs in <=>Durham<=>

Farm TypeDairy

The Herd consists of 500+ cows - a mix of British Friesian, Fleckvieh and Crossbred to be managed on a grass-based system and milked through a newly installed Waikato 70 point rotary parlour.

Female followers are reared on farm and bull calves generally sold under 12 months.

The Herdsperson Applicant

The applicant must have previous practical experience of working with dairy cows, preferably with experience of grassland management.

AI and hoof trimming experience would also be advantageous.

The Assistant Herdsperson Applicant

Must demonstrate a high level of animal husbandry and be able to work as part of a team, showing ability to provide cover for Herdsperson when necessary.

The Tractor driver Applicant

The applicant must have a competent working knowledge of all types of general farm machinery and a clean driving licence.

A willingness to provide relief milking would be advantageous.

Relief Milker Applicants

Must have previous milking experience.
