The cows are housed in cubicals and bedded on mats and sawdust.  Tmr feeding through the winter.  The milking parlour is a Dairymaster 30 / 60,with ACR`s.  It is open sided, which is very nice to milk in.  Calving is mainly in the autumn but spreads  into the spring.  The cows are moving towards a cross bred type with NZ Friesian, Brown Swiss and Norwegian Red bulls used recently.   Hygiene, cleanliness and attention to detail are essential to keep the farm at the top of the industry.   A good stockperson with an eye for cow and calf health will enjoy this position.  There are 5 other other staff employed as a members of the farm team.  Feeding, bedding, scraping out and fencing the cows and youngstock is a part of the routine.
