We are unique farm as we also have a consultancy business on site offering support to food businesses such as McDonald’s, Ikea, Marks and Spencer, Co-op, Fererro.  The farm is integrally linked with the consultancy business and we are constantly pushing ourselves to produce food as sustainably as possible.   We farm 1200 acres of organic land with a large proportion of HLS and SSI river meadow. 150 acres is in arable production on a rotation of oats, arable silage, grass/herb ley.  70 suckler cows and 600 ewes producing own replacements with stock finished on farm.  We are in the process of changing the farm to a fully mob grazed system. 1400 laying hens with on farm packing and eggs supplied locally in Oxford.  We also rear dairy bull calves non-organically in batches of 60 taking them from 2-12 weeks. We operate both Home Office Licensed and Field trials facility. Farm Ability is an outdoor, farm based programme for people with learning disabilities and autism based on the farm too.   The role of ‘Assistant Stockperson’ will support the farm team across all the livestock enterprises, renewable energy generation and trial work. Key Responsibilities - Daily stock checks on cattle, sheep and poultry.  Supporting the farm team with management tasks including health treatments, TB testing, building maintenance.  Support the mob grazing system with electric and permanent fencing and frequent stock moves.   Support through lambing and calving including tagging and birth records.  Egg collection and grading.  General tractor driving to include duties covering feeding, mucking out, yard cleaning, grassland/pasture maintenance and arable operations.  Qualifications and experience - Good stockmanship skills and some experience of farm livestock.  Experience of livestock recording software/spreadsheets would be advantageous.  Ability to undertake general farm maintenance Personal attributes/characteristics - Reliable and punctual.  Good attention to detail.  An interest in sustainable agriculture and food production.  Good communication skills, both oral and written.
