Most tractors I have operated in the past four summers have been between 150-200hp. These have usually been John Deere’s or New Hollands. Mostly grain carting up to 20t trailers for contractor covering 2200 hectares. Have also used Lemkin discs for stubble cultivation as well as rolling behind the drill. Harvest work also included bale carting using both pivot steer and mast JCB loaders on both round and square bales. Last year I learnt to operate livestock machinery such as feeder wagons and straw choppers on a beef unit.
I worked on a large scale stock unit comprising of 1100 beef (Sussex), 300 dairy (jersey), 1500 pigs and 1800 chickens in the summer of 2018. The role consisted of many aspects including; calf rearing, calving, general stock handling, using a feeder wagon, straw chopping, medical applications, pig AI, bale carting, rolling and responsible for tracking and calculating livestock monthly feed costings in the office.

I grew up on a family arable farm in Kent. During school and university summer holidays I've worked full time on both mixed and purely arable farms. these consist of the farm at home of 400 hectares, a large scale arable contractor harvesting 2200 hectares of combinable crops and in the summer of 2018 working on a large scale mixed farm which was predominantly livestock based.
