Farming background

I have done a spring/summer (6-months) of agricultural crop damage assessment work in 2017 for three estates and the associated deer management consultancy which followed. Such work involved assessing damaged cropping over 188 field visits to calculate area/tonnage losses using estate specific financial figures. Furthermore, I have been lucky enough to design a fully operational almond farm plan out in Tabernas, Spain, working in a team to produce the most viable startup of such a system from environmental, economic, political and social perspectives.

Field Sports For the past 10-years, I have trained and competed in clay pigeon shooting. Having coached for the UEA clay shooting society, I have developed effective communication and teaching skills to help develop safety and technique in novice shooters. Furthermore, I have successfully competed at Cambridgeshire CPSA nationals, with a good showing despite being down a team member. Time-Trial Cycling Competitive cycling has formed a significant part my extra-curricular activities for the past 9-years, having been a member of Plomesgate CC and British Cycling. Training towards 5 and 10-mile time-trials to achieve beyond the desired 20mph average speed figures, required commitment and time management. Not only have I enjoyed competitive cycling, but it has taught me strict self-discipline. Fishkeeping For over 10-years, fishkeeping has remained a strong passion of mine. Through the knowledge gained, I have been able to keep, breed and sell rare species of Amazonian freshwater fish, saltwater marine fish and corals of different families. Not only is this rewarding, but the commitment and patience needed to maintain such complex miniature ecosystems, has proven essential to ensure success.
