July 2018 - present Placement Student - 12 month placement covering each area of the production business from hatching of turkeys right through to processing whilst working as part of an integrated team. Duties include feed management, artificial insemination, egg setting and transfer from farm to hatchery, take off and grading of poults, preparing customer orders, daily husbandry, biosecurity, administration, marketing, processing and packaging of the birds and technical work. February 2012 – present Assistant Herdswoman - Working voluntarily, managing a small herd of pedigree Dexters. - Responsible for health and welfare of cattle on farm and at shows as well as assisting in breeding plans. - Duties include herd husbandry, movements, feeding, halter training, show preparation, vaccinations, assisting vet visits, selection of cattle for slaughter and record keeping (hard copy and electronically).
