Farming background

Relatively new to farming and really keen to do and learn more, I previously did Outdoors Instructing but always new it would only be short term till I worked out what I really wanted to do. Whilst travelling round New Zealand in 2018 I did a season Calf rearing and absolutely loved it. This was my first time doing any work with cattle or on a commercial farm and I really developed a passion and interest in cattle from this. I fed Calves twice daily, origionaly housed inside, then turned out into paddocks and weaned off milk and feed. Also administered any treament needed if they were ill, and did weighing, worming and vaccinations. Assisted a Vet Tech with AI for six weeks. I prepped the AI guns with pre frozen semen ready for insemination and helped to sort out cows in heat. Currently working in a horse sanctuary where main duties are mucking out and haying up. Keen to do more work with cattle and gain more knowledge in calves and youngstock.

I enjoy running and other outdoor activities like surfing and rock climbing.
