Grew up on a smallholding where we have a few sheep. Have helped pen them for shearing, foot trimming and vet visits including surgical castration. In addition to this I feed them and check on them to ensure they are in good health. My family also had 10 chickens which I used to help feed and clean out their enclosure. Have grown up surrounded by the horses my family have owned since I was born. I have a varied knowledge of horses which extends beyond the husbandry skills required when caring for horses. This includes the management of laminitis and Cushing's Disease, natural horsemanship skills and behavioural issues.

Farming background

Grew up on a small holding from a young age which has varied slightly in the number of animals over the years but cared for sheep (10), chickens (10) and horses (2). During my time between the job I am currently in and when I finished university I volunteered at the local Riding for Disable Association (RDA). I was involved with getting the horses ready and assisting in the lessons. August 2018- to date| AHDB Intern in the Pork Health and Welfare team This primarily involves assisting on tasks/projects to do with diseases surveillance and control and food processing. This job also involves communicating with external and internal stakeholders. April 2017 - June 2018 | Pizza Hut (waitress) September 2015 to October 2017 | 28 York Place – Hotel, Bar and Events (bartender/receptionist and housekeeper) June 2014 to April 2016 | Jamesfield Farm Shop and Restaurant (waitress and farm shop assistant)
