Been on a farm everyday of my life specialised in sheep for 12 years- have the ability to manage a flock of ewes including grassland management, lambing, tagging, castrating, shearing, foot trimming, FEC worming, also done some showing. Have the capability to manage paperwork efficiently, also have plenty of experience buying and selling stock. Have cattle experience mainly from home family farm in Cornwall, have the ability to calve, castrate, dehorn, tagging as well as grassland maintenance.

Farming background

Raised on a livestock farm in Cornwall with a suckler herd of 180 limousines X and 120 mule X breeding ewes. 2017-to date- Managing an organic sheep and arable farm of 300 acres with 250 breeding ewes and 40 riding school horses. This involves managing a team of 3/4 people, all paperwork for red tractor and soil association. As well as taking care of the horses and horse paddocks. 2014-2017 - working with a contract shepherd with 5000 breeding ewes all year around and up to 15,000 sheep (mainly hill sheep) in the winter months on arable crops. Managed part of these myself and managed all of them during absence of employer. 2014 worked for The Royal Agricultural College- looking after the flock of 300 breeding ewes and store cattle, also some arable experience driving combine and drills etc. Also worked on many sheep and cattle farms during lambing and calving season, working with various breeds and systems.

Hobbies

I train sheepdogs and own 2 horses which I have used for work herding cattle and sheep as well as taking them to country shows.
