July 2017 – Sept 2018 Farm Estate Office, Berkshire • Full-time placement year; from Harper Adams University, as stockman and assisting arable operations. • Feeding and checking pedigree Aberdeen Angus herd, TB testing and routine herd health work. • Operating modern grainstore, grain haulage and loading grain lorries. • Assisting arable operation during cultivation, drilling and fertiliser application, and harvesting crops. • Training cattle for showing at local agricultural shows and showing cattle for neighbouring farm. • Helping organise and run Open Farm Sunday. Feb 2015 – Sept 2016 Dairy Farm, Northern Ireland. • Part-time, relief milking, weekends and evening work. • Livestock and yard work, rearing calves, vaccinating animals, mucking out, etc. • Machinery work included slurry spreading, bedding and chopping straw, diet feeding and other duties. • Some building work with new sheds and parlour. Jan 2014  Hillsborough, Northern Ireland.  • Three-day placement. • Was shown and involved in the young stock unit’s manager and lead researcher’s daily duties. Feb 2013 – Jan 2015 Northern Ireland.  • Two years, part-time, carrying out weekend and holiday milking. • General yard work on weekends and during summer; feeding calves, mucking out and calving duties. • Machinery work included but not exclusive to slurry spreading, diet feeding, rolling, etc. • Worked as part of the worm works enterprise of the business, involved in feeding worms, bagging or packing worms and garden worm compost bins ready for collection and distribution. Oct 2013  Co. Down, NI. • Week long placement at Trailers. • Involved in manufacturing parts to be fitted to end products. • Helped staff fit Electrics, Hydraulics and Wheels to Trailers before sale/delivery.
