Currently doing an apprenticeship on a Sussex beef farm which provide for Waitrose, have been working here for 7 years. Have a huge range of knowledge on beef cattle and sheep and feel this is the best enterprise for me to go into. By doing my apprenticeship course i have achieved my AI certificate, Blue shield Shearing, Also have had the experience of showing cattle, pigs and sheep. Also the main part of this apprenticeship was to teach me how to run a farm on a day to day basis which i feel i have succeeded as i was running the farm 3 days a week on my own doing all the daily routine by myself, which consisted of calving, field work, fencing and also the paperwork side of things from passports movement forms, countryside stewardship documents.  I have just started a small flock of my own with 11 breeding ewes and one ram. I'm hoping this will then give me a look into of how caring and rearing my own livestock is to get a better understanding
