Icelandic Horse Trainer (self-employed)

The horse farm involves the operation of an Icelandic Horse breeding and training farm with my wife.  It is currently mostly stocked with breeding and young horses – approx 20 horses. 

Registered Farrier (P/T)

Currently with around 10 horses on my books (about 2 hours per week).

Stockman (P/T)

Working for neighbour checking, feeding & handling cattle & sheep.  Mostly employed during calving & lambing times & during harvest operations.

Responsible for Northumberland and South Scotland as on-farm sales employee for calcified seaweed based fertilizers and soil conditioners.

August 2005 – November 2006 Dairyman

Responsible for milking 300+ herd on daily basis on evening shift and daytime work such as hoof trimming, assisting vets with AI and other procedures and general farm work.

Involved the delivery of BTEC level 4 units in Biological Principles, Breed Development and Animal Health and Welfare to equine management students.
