Observing and learning at Barony College using Fullwood 24:24 herringbone parlour, 50-55 milked through a Fullwood Merlin voluntary milking robot and the remainder are Dry. No equipment experience however very enthusiastic about learning.

Other livestock experience

Helped with lambing on a four week residential placement on a large livestock farm. Also assisted with feeding lambs and calves. I assisted with other tasks such as mucking out, weighing and bedding. I can't currently lamb alone however I'm a very quick learner and would love the opportunity to learn and gain that appropriate experience.

Currently work part time in a veterinary practice as an animal care assistant however looking to gain more experience within agriculture.

Hobbies

In my spare time I like to keep myself fit by running and cycling. I was involved with Clydesdale Harrier Athletics Club and represented the club at competitions running 100m, 200m and 400m. I have 2 dogs who I enjoy taking for long walks in the local countryside. I enjoy spending time with friends for a friendly game of football.

Veterinary Clinic - Animal Care Assistant January 2018 - Present Duties included - Assisting veterinarians in examining animals. Monitoring animals' recovering from surgery. Assisted veterinarians with surgical procedures. Prioritized animal safety and comfort consistently. Adhered to high standard of safety, cleanliness, and professionalism. Dog Days Glasgow Volunteer Dog Handler October 2016-April 2017 Whilst studying NC Animal care, I undertook volunteering one day a week at a busy dog day care centre, duties involved exercising dogs and puppies, cleaning of rooms and equipment and basic training of puppies. Callander Youth Project General Assistant August 2014- August 2015 I worked as part of a small team in a hostel and cafe. General duties included making beds,cleaning bathroom accessories such as shower,mirrors,shelves and Refilling amenities. While in the cafe I assisted in preparation of food and delivering food to customers. I also took took payment and maintained a clean and tidy kitchen area. Veterinary Clinic Volunteer assistant April 2014- August 2014 Whilst working at Callander Youth Project I undertook voluntary work once or twice a week at a nearby vet. I observed when the vet nurses were doing operations on dogs and cats and assisted them in cleaning the room and equipment afterwards. I also helped out in the groom room assisting the groomer by holding the dogs she was attending to making sure they wouldn't move whilst cutting,learning about different techniques for different breeds,bathing and drying. SRUC Coatbridge college June 2016- August 2017 Whilst studying NC Animal care, the course involved a four week residential placement at Barony campus SRUC, this included helping in the Wildlife hospital, kennels and large livestock farm.
