2 seasons of lambing both indoors and outdoors on an open system. Very basic calving experience. Lamb rearing and orphan calf and lamb rearing. Short term seasonal employment as a shepherdess to around 3000 lowland mules and Swaledales. This included weaning, vaccinating, dosing, worming, foot trimming, gathering, weighing and sorting fat lambs. Very much interested in getting any kind of stock experience.

I didn't go to agricultural college as prior to this year I was very unsure of what I wanted to do. This somehow has made me much more focused on wanting to get as much experience as I can to progress and'catch up' as it were. It's nice to realize and find something you can see yourself having a career in.(And be able to actually be outside and work hard).

Farming background

Immediate family are shepherds and we used to live on small holding with sheep, pigs, poultry / 2018: / 10 weeks of lambing both indoor and outdoors on an open system. Experience in vaccinating, drenching, feet trimming, tagging, moving, small amount of helping out with shearing / 1 month general farm hand in the Orkneys: thistling, ragwort pulling, dosing, worming, looking after cadie lambs and calves / 1 month shepherdessing on the Isle of Man: dipping, foot trimming, weaning, weighing and sorting fat lambs, stock checks, vaccinating, gathering off the hills.

Hobbies

Art, running, walking, socialising, watching films, crumble and custard making.
