Ploughing experience 20 hours +, long shifts but not many.

Feedlot experience conducted for university practical experience requirements, extensive theoretical knowledge. Nutrition a major interest. 2 years+ sheep experience, wool production mostly. 50000+ Merino herd on one farm, 30000+ Dorpers on another farm. Extremely experienced with horses, both riding and experience training, and 1 month experience training thoroughbreds. 3+ years training ex racehorses for cattle work.

Farming background

Grew up on a cattle farm, riding horses, fencing, mustering, working long days, etc. Big family and lots of pets. Cooked for 6 family while mother worked in town during the week. Worked on other family farms throughout school to help. Worked on a sheep and cattle farm for a company straight out of school for 6 months. Sheep and cattle stud attached also. 4 man team with 2 men and 2 women including me. I was forced to leave after I suffered a major injury (no ongoing issues). Self-contained living. I worked on 2 different farms for experience for university – feedlot with cropping attached and a backgrounding production and a sheep and cropping farm. Worked on a farm during university holidays to earn some money for a few weeks. Sheep and cropping. Ploughing experience gained then. General farm work with the sheep and farm maintenance. Worked on 2 cattle properties for a company this year. Large amount of truck driving and tractor work. Helped deconstruct fences mostly to make way for new ones. Cattle work otherwise. 3 man team during the week, 4 man on the weekends. Live-in housing.
