I have been working on my current dairy farm since February being left in charge of a team ensuring all tasks are completed to a high standard in a timely manner. We milk 200 cows through a 10/10 herringbone parlour running a 600 head pedigree Holstein herd breeding all our own replacements. I am confident with the cattle and being left to complete tasks alone. I have full experience rearing calves, stomach tubing and vaccinating, weaning and general herd health. I have also recently completed 3 weeks lambing experience where I have been left in sole charge numourous times for difficult lambings, turning out ewes and lambs, ringing, numbering and general hygiene, cleanliness and tidiness of the shed. I am confident when handling stock and have a good eye. I have jabbed, treated and boloused cattle as well as worming and general cattle handling through the crush system and back into the sheds. I am looking to leave my current job due to moving out of the area. High standards of milking and cleanliness in the parlour, checking cell counts, drying off and health of fresh calving cows. A very good eye for general health issues.

I am a member of the RSBAA helping to organise the annual ploughing match, stewarding the horse ploughman on the day and regularly attending meetings and producing the budgets etc. I have a part time job helping in a farm office completing all admin tasks, calf registering, passports, movements, invoicing and vet and med records. I also send off all seed approvals and of&g record keeping giving me a good insight into the other side of farming and the work that goes into this.

I have always been passionate about livestock and working outside. I have also lived on a 600 cattle organic beef suckler farm. I am keen to progress my career, extremely hardworking and enthusiastic with a good sense of humour and team ethics.
