I run a small flock of my own (80 ewes) and shepard a 300 ewe flock with total responsability for all decesion making e.g purchase of Rams, culling policy, lambing system, overall health and welfare of flock. I also Shepard a 100 ewe flock for dairy farmer working with him on major decisions so I can work on my own unitive or in partnership with some one else. The 300 Cheviots are being sold out before lambing this year leaving me with an opportunity to contract lamb.

Farming background

Completed Farm Apprentichop in 1999. Retained by a Pedgree Charolais farm for a further year as a full time employment. Left employment and moved back to Wicklow as I was getting married and setting up a home there. I operated heavy plant machinery in Construction sites in Dublin. I also done some relief milking for a dairy farmer during this period. My background is in sheep. Brought up on a hill sheep farm in S.W Donegal and I returned to sheep again in 2008 by buying 50 ewes. Also started assisting sheep farmers on the locality and then got two jobs. One with 300 Cheviots and one with 100 cross breds plus my own 80 ewes.
