Farming background

The work experience detailed below has mainly been of a short nature as the work has only occurred during school and university holidays. However, since graduating in November 2017, I have been employed full time on my fathers beef farm, whilst looking for work in the UK. 1)2011-current Manager on a 600 breeding beef herd in South Africa. Responsible for the daily implementation of both the livestock and arable operations. In charge of 10 staff members. Involved with the daily and weekly planning and annual budgeting of the farm. Operated machinery and equipment and did minor repairs and maintenance where necessary. 2) 2016-2017 Bar Manager for a Promotions Company Although not particularly relevant to farming , I was in charge of 40 employees and I had to ensure that there was efficient service, tight stock control, high revenue turnover and happy customers! It was sometimes quite pressured but I enjoyed that challenge. 3) 2016 Sales Supervisor - Promotions Company I was in charge of merchandise sales of The Disney on Ice company when it toured South Africa during the July holidays. Again, not relevant to farming, but it was hard and challenging work and I was in charge of a group of students who sold the merchandise, making sure that customer service was excellent, and stock control was reconciled. There was a lot of preparation and planning required in the set up of each show.
