No previous experience before the start of my college course in sept 2017.  However I'm gaining experience through the colleges farm where they have a dairy herd where I have been involved in milking duties., suckler beef herd, a flock of sheep and a commercial pig unit, in which we are involved with getting hands on experience as much as possible. also done some calf disbudding and injections under the supervision of the tutor.

I'm part of the college show team, enjoying getting hands on and seeing stock taken from the herd to show ring, from pre show prep to the showing of the animals. i recently showed the colleges sheep at the local fatstock show.

Farming background

2000-2004 worked at a kennels as a kennel hand. Oct 2004-june 2006 worked at a kennels as a deputy manager until I left to have a baby. 2007-2009- returned as part time help. Oct 2009-Aug 2010- part time help ,at Odinthor till baby number 2 was due. August 2010 till present raising my children, baby number 3 was born in 2013. during this time I did some dog walking for friends that worked all day. Sept 2017 started BTEC level 3 extended diploma in Agriculture at Plumpton college. Not from a farming background. I have always had a keen interest in the countryside and farm life, however I have never had the chance to pursue this as a career until recently.   In Sept 2017 I decided to go back to college and learn about agriculture to help me get that foot on the ladder.
