Farming background

I live on a family arable farm and have worked for two other arable farms doing corn carting, cultivations and managing the grain stores.

Current Employment - Harvest and Cultivations on a combinable crops estate. July 2018 - September 2018

I am currently employed as a tractor driver. My jobs include corn carting with an 18 ton push floor trailer, telehandler work with two JCB 531.70’s and secondary cultivations with a rexius twin cultipress. Alongside this I work on the estate itself topping margins, doing tree work and other maintenance tasks, as well as muck carting in the local area. I have also done grain store maintenance, installing pedestals in the heaps and monitoring the stores and pushing up grain.  Additionally, I work with the estate deer and cattle,  feeding and doing daily checks.

Hobbies

Shooting, and Socialising

I choose to spend as much of my spare time as possible working on the family farm, including helping my brother with his steadily growing flock of sheep, as well as working for other local farmers, in particular a near neighbour, helping with his cattle, TB testing etc.

I also take part in local shoots throughout the shooting season.
