Farming background

Working as herdsman and tractor driver on a 400 acre Dairy Farm which is has a herd of 300 cows. This is a new herd based on the New Zealand method of milk production. My duties include milking, feeding and caring for the calves, carting and mucking out. Worked on a 410 acre dairy farm in New Zealand, which had a heard of 450 milking cows and 170 calves. My duties include milking, feeding and caring for the calves. Worked on my Uncle’s 200 acre farm, duties included tractor driving during the harvest, loading and stacking bales of hay, straw and silage round bales. Also worked for 4 weeks on neighbours 400 acre mixed dairy and beef farm, driving tractors and loadalls assisting in bringing the harvest, and stacking bales. Other duties included milking, feeding calves and beef stock, scraping out the yard after milking and fencing works.
