General farm worker/Tractor man/Mechanic (January – Current); Currently working on a mixed farm and contractors in Aberdeenshire, main duties include: • Check cattle and sheep and assist with routine • Assist with the contracting of silage and harvest; raking, carting, bailing, spreading fertiliser, ploughing etc. • Fixing various farm machinery brought in by customers • Welding Bedding carrots (November – December 2016) • Loading hasten bales onto carrot bedder with JCB telehandler Shepperd/Tractor man (May – October 2016) • Working a 600 cheviot 500 blackie hill farm with pedigree Shorthorn and Highland suckler herds • Gathering, dosing, jagging, late lambing, assisting at clipping etc. • Calving, feeding, vaccinations, finishing off, show prepping etc. • Bailing and wrapping silage, spreading fertiliser, topping, ploughing, rolling, feeder wagon, bedder Lambing (April 2016) • Month indoor lambing at Thurso 1200 cross ewes • On the night shift lambing then feeding and bedding cattle and ewes in morning • Feeder wagon, bedder Lifting carrots (May – July 2015) • Carting carrots After School and weekends (2013/14) • Worked on neighbouring farm with cattle • Bought and reared own calves over winter
