This unit is run as a satellite farm with little or no input from the estate owners. I have consistently made a profit of over £500 per cow before the SFP is added to the farm accounts. October 20 2008-June 2011 Herdsman/Working Herd manager Day to day running of 300 jersey cows ,6400l undertaking all activities involved with the dairy and integration with the rest of the farm team February 2008- October 2008 Herd Manager 750 cows-Flying herd with an emphasis on milk form grass and self feed silage, day to day management of the unit also undertaking the relief milking of the smaller estate dairy of 200 cows. Unit ceased milk production in October 2008 December 2006-January 2008 Herdsman 450 high yielding Holsteins Undertaking milking, feeding, bedding of milking herd and young stock duties, also undertaking the third milking on a regular basis July 2005-January 2008 Part-time herdsman/gfw 120 Jersey cows Undertaking day to day work involved with the dairy milking 3-4 days a week
