Farming background

I first started in the world of farming with beef and sheep around 10 years ago. After working on a couple of small farms to gain experience I began working in dairy. I started off with doing all the tractor work, I soon became involved with calving and working with young stock, milking, animal husbandry and management, calf rearing, grazing rotations. I enrolled in courses for my ai ticket and foot trimming (a little rusty with foot trimming now) and took a herdsman course to gain more knowledge and experience. Since then my wife and i have also been running our own business calf rearing and livestock fattening. We have also have a growing flock of sheep. For the last 6 months, I have been herd manager on a dairy farm of 350 head of cattle, working with a small team to ensure high quality and standards (milk results can be shared). I have a good track record with milk hygiene and 100% pass rate on milk.

I try to spend as much time with my family as possible, regularly attend the gym to keep my fitness up, swimming and some cycling.
