Farming background

I have been involved in agriculture for over 20 years from leaving school. I first helped out on a farm where they asked me if I wanted to do an apprentieship and study Agriculture at College as I had a natural talent and this is what I did.  I passed with the highest possible grade.  The farm was a 700 acre farm which had about 120 Dairy Cattle which we milked twice a day about 300 sheep plus about 80 Suckler cows, feeding up I was involved with lambing/milking/silaging/calving there also grew beet/turnips and potatoes.  It was very rewarding to see lambs and calves you had brought up to see them years later in the dairy herd or Suckler herd, they had there own Hereford bull and mainly the Suckler cows were all Herefords.  I also helped other farmers out with milking and lambing over the years.
