Farming background

Previous role is management of a 200 acre mixed stock organic farm. Daily duties involve feeding and bedding up suckler herd of Angus and Hereford with year round calving. Management of vaccines, TB testing, weaning, cattle rotation etc. Also adequate feeding and bedding an outdoor free range unit of pigs, ensuring breeding gives a steady supply of finished pigs to the on site farm shop. 150 commercial sheep are on the farm, and manage stock rotation, selection of finished lambs, feeding, and treatment of any ailments. Experienced with intensive lambing, farrowing and calving and treatment of any illness in stock. Passionate about welfare of stock, and ensuring all tasks are fully completed above and beyond expectations. Happy working alone, or as part of a team and always welcome the opportunity to learn.
