Farming background

I worked at home for 10 Years, then enjoyed 2 years in charge of a Farm, Eaton. Following on from this I spent 13 years at a Farm, North Rode as Herdsman to 300 Holstein cows & 200 young stock (100ha). These roles gave me 25 years of experience running and working on a number of successful farms. After one of the farm Herd was sold I set up a successful Wedding Photography business which allowed me to primarily work from home and spend more time with my wife and two sons as they went through their education. I gained a variety of skills setting up the business including, sales techniques, marketing techniques and communication skills. Photographing weddings taught me how to work well under pressure and how to deal with difficult situations which can occur on a wedding day. In 2010 I started part time at a Farm Supplies in I.T. & website development, and then I was offered the post of purchasing manager. This gave me further IT experience and taught me the importance of working as part of a team in the Work place. I left in July 2012 and have been working for nearly 6 years as Farm Operations Manager for ( 5 units milking nearly 1000 cows ) I am the Farm manager at a Farm and over saw the start of the milk production on the new set up, manage a number of staff and towards achieving targets at all times.
