Herding up to 1,700 cattle (primarily continental beef breeds) on the RSPB ouse washes. Includes many moves on and off site with associated paperwork. application on medication such as pour on wormer/fly treatment, vaccination, treatment for eye infections, antibiotic injections,assisting foot treatment for lameness. As well as daily health and welfare checks and regular grazing compartment moves. At surrey wildlife trust as a seasonal stock checker. this involved checking livestock across the county, around 400 belted galloways, 100 sheep 20 goats and a handful of ponies. Here i was very involved with the ponies care learning a great deal about domestic equine care. I also assisted with various procedure with sheep, seting up for shearing, Tagging lambs, foot and fly treatment and so on. I was also involved with cattle care applying vaccination, bolas and movements etc. Although due to the numbers less intensively than at the RSPB Looking after 30 highland cattle and 90 Konik ponies as part of national trust grazing project.

Iv been working in a conservation grazing setting for around 3 years, I have a good level handling skills. Although, I would like to build my experience in a farming environment where I am keen to learn new skills. I love working with livestock and I endeavor to provide the high level of welfare through gentle handling and searching new ways to improve practice. I hope to to find a stable job where I can invest in a herd more long term.

Farming background

Currently Seasonal stock checker for surrey wildlife trust. this involves health and welfare checks on our herd of ~400 Belted Galloways, ~100 Hill Radnor sheep, ~20 Goats and 5 ponies. I also assist with treatments and moves as well as general tasks around the farm. 7 months seasonal contract Herding up to 1,700 cattle on the Ouse washes, as stock-person for the RSPB, this included a lot of pen work, medical treatments both pour on and injections. a high level of observational skills to find and keep track of ailments and good lone working communication. on average day would cover at least 70Km 95% off road on quad bike. spent four months traveling the country volunteering on various farms form vegetable market garden to Dairy. 6 months volunteering as Grazing assistant for national trust. as part of their extensive conservation grazing project. looking after 30 highland cattle and 90 Konik ponies. Iv also done a range a range of gardening work.


I do Like to go for walks, swim and generally explore but I also like to read or play computer games
