Turneys Farming, Quinton Green, Northamptonshire, Harvest Worker - Summer 2016 and 2017 • Topping of grass margins, maintain these to a good standard aesthetically but also for their wildlife benefit • Trailer work took in carting bales with a 40ft articulated trailer and corn carting back to store • Out-loading of all arable crops into Camgrain/Agrii lorries using a JCB 531-70 (included the organisation of and filling in the Camgrain ticket book required before the lorries can tip any crop in stores (Kettering). • Cultivations including rolling & pressing in OSR with either a John Deere 8520 or 6170R, both equipped with GreenStar GPS (GS2), and sub-soiling with either the 8520 or 6190R. • Transport of liquid fertiliser by tractor (6155R) and bowser, as well as slug pellets and seed to the drill during the Oilseed Rape drilling period • Strimming • Fence clearing and re-erection • Operation of a personnel cage for tree clearing, again on the JCB 531-70. LF Papworth, Tuttington/Felmingham – General Farmworker – March – September 2015 • Land work including chain harrowing, power harrowing for sugar beet and rolling in spring barley • The business has a great interest in potato production, operations on this side included, de-stoning during planting (one morning), moving and setting up irrigation pipes, as well as moving reels by road and field • Rouging wheat crops – I was in charge of a group of foreign workers, including setting up each day, transport and timesheets • Operation of their Claas Lexion 760TT + V900 (30ft) header (supervised) • Grain store maintenance and usage – in charge of the grain drying system on a number of occasions, also the movement of grain to necessary storage within the yard, taking in telescopic handler experience (JCB TM310) when load grain trailers and pushing up with the larger JCB 416S • Corn and muck carting • Strimming Worstead Farms, Worstead/Smallburgh – Farmworker – August – September 2013 • Topping of grass margins with a John Deere 5090R • Subsoiling and cultivating with a John Deere 7530 Estate Duties • Worked with the forestry manager • Tree-clearing • Fencing

Not from a farming background myself but have worked on two mixed farms near where I live in Norfolk; one being a large contractor working across 3,500 acres. I've also done two harvests on another 3,500 acre site, this time in Northamptonshire (detailed above).
