Farming background

I was a herdsman on a 250 dairy cow unit all year round calving for 15 yrs. I then managed a 250 dairy cow unit all year round calving with 2 people underneath me. I worked for 12 months as a relief herdsman on a number of spring calving units ranging from 300-450 dairy cross breeds. I have been an assistant farm manager on a autumn calving high yielding unit of 300 dairy cows. Most recently I am working with a 400 cow high yielding 11000+herd. Here I am the lead herdsman responsible for the day to day running of the herd and followers.
