I am former chairman and an active member of Dorking and District Senior Young Farmers, i enjoy helping with the livestock tents at local country shows as well as teaching husbandry to other members. I Currently Volunteer at a Wildlife Hospital and at Merrist Wood College, as well as assisting my brother in law with his animals when help is needed during lambing, calving, sheering etc.

Farming background

Currently emplyed as a vet nurse. Worked on a large pig unit and dairy farm in Surrey, where i assisted with milking in the morning, but mainly was in charge of rearing calves. I am confident and and capable in a range of husbandry practices and handling such as de-horning, giving injection and ear tagging. Over the 5 years i have been studying at college and university i have worked with both beef and dairy livestock as well as sheep, pigs, poultry and zoo livestock such as zebra, camels, reindeer, muntjack, red deer etc. Also experience as an assistant herds person for 400 cattle for a period of 3 months
