I’ve completed courses on Safety around cows & bulls, Emergency First Aid, Safe working in Agriculture & Horticulture, Certificate of competence in Manual handling, Safe use of pesticides and sprays, Safe use of quad bikes and Trailer handling

Farming background

I am an extremely hard working, conscientious, diligent and cheerful person who enjoys all aspects of agricultural work, both mechanical and manual. I have always worked outdoors and I have experience of most aspects of estate and farm work both livestock and arable. My experience includes: - Farm, Somerset – Farm worker (Sep 14 – Apr 16) I assist in the running of the farm. My duties include the well being of farm animals including sheep, chickens, ducks and goats, tractor work and other mechanised tasks, woodland maintenance, fencing, planting and general farm work. - The National Trust, Landscape Gardens – Estate warden (Sep 12 – Sep 14) I worked as a volunteer estate warden at a Landscape Gardens. My duties included tractor work and other mechanised tasks, path maintenance, fencing, planting, mowing, forestry and general estate maintenance and manual tasks. -  Preston Bissett – Farm worker (Feb 13 – April 13) I worked on a short term (2 month) contract during the lambing season. My duties included the day to day care and well-being of 400 Suffolk and Easycare ewes. -  Agricultural Contractors (Jan 11 – Aug 12) I worked as an apprentice for this leading firm of agricultural contractors near Banbury. My duties included tractor work, cleaning equipment, maintaining the workshop and general duties to support the contracting team. - The National Trust, Landscape Gardens – Estate warden (Sep 07 – Dec 10) I began working at Stowe Landscape Gardens for one day per week (but full time during holidays) as part of my college work experience in all areas of the gardens. As part of a team my duties included tractor work and other mechanised tasks, planting, mowing, forestry and general estate maintenance and manual tasks. - Farm, Shalstone – Tractor driver During my college holidays and weekends I worked at the 400-acre Grounds Farm with owner.  My duties included tractor driving, harvesting, general maintenance of farm property including fields and woodland and manual tasks. -  Nurseries, Leeds – General assistant During my spring term holidays I assisted with a wide range of duties at this commercial landscape nurseries including the propagation and planting trees and plants for sale, general landscape maintenance and manual tasks.


If you were to ask my friends how they would sum me up, they would say that I am conscientious, friendly and very hard working. When I am not working I like cycling, walking, tractors, agricultural machinery and growing my own vegetables. I am an active member of Young Farmers club.
