Farming background

Seasonal work on a local farm, this has been an excellent opportunity for me to develop my skills on the farm both in the harvesting season and with livestock. My main responsibilities were: • Moving sheep, both on foot and transporting them in a trailer. • Feeding livestock, including sheep and cows. • Worming sheep. • Helping with the ultrasound scanning of ewes. • Assisting during the lambing season.• Working on the corn cart during the barley harvest and assisted with the baling of barley straw, including driving the tractor. I have helped a local farmer during the harvest and shown sheep at a local show. I have completed a course at Sparsholt college doing agriculture and now work self employed.  I was also a standard bearer for the Royal British Legion, a post I took with the utmost respect. Since 2010 I have been an active member with in the Sealed Knot, re-enacting Civil war battles and being allowed to represent (King Charles I) at event weekends. I have shown rams at the Royal County of Berkshire Show on two occasions (’15 and ’16) gaining a second and a fourth place rosette. Since these accolades I purchased two ewes and one ram, in 2017 they bore three lambs and in 2018 they bore 2 lambs, after some losses.

I like to watch the 6 Nations rugby
