2017/2018 Herdsman of a pedigree jersey dairy herd. 2016/2017 studied and worked on mixed farm with dairy and sheep. 2014 – 2015 – Farm Worker on dairy farm – 360 dairy herd with replacement stock. • Here I performed tasks such as milking, bedding cows, transport cattle, Silage carting, bale handling and bale carting. • Assisting with veterinary checks and hoof trimming contractors. • Maintaining and cleaning parlour, operating a wide variety of farm vehicles and machinery of various manufacturers. 2014 – 2015 – Part time work on dairy farm – 360 dairy herd with replacement stock. • This included relief milking and calve feeding. 2006 – 2013 – Farm Worker on dairy farm – 700 dairy herd with replacement stock • This included Milking, bedding cows, feeding calves • Tractor work and use of a variety of implements. • Farm, equipment and fence maintenance. • Recording, documenting and reviewing movements of animals on IT systems at the farm • Working on my own initiative and as part of a team. August 2013 – Tractor driver for a Contractor • Experience of tractor and trailer driving during the silage season June 2012 – August 2013 – Volunteering with Millennium Volunteers • Spent time caring for and working dogs, carrying out tasks such as feeding, bedding, sanitization, and various types of training. • Aided owners who could not look after there pets’ full time due to health issues by exercising the dogs. March 2012 – Work Experience – NI based poultry company • Experienced the entire process of hatching the chicks throughout until removal from sheds for processing. • Health and welfare testing on farms to ensure they remain at a higher welfare standard.
