Other Information

I am on the judging panel of the Aberdeen Angus Cattle Society. Judged numerous shows in England. I have recently started getting involved in the Angus youth development workshops. Get great enjoyment viewing other breeders cattle and being among stockmen. Outwith this rugby would be my other interest and have started to take a keen interest in photography, although this is in it's infancy, it is something I would like to do more of

Farming background

Dec.1991-Oct.1988.General work on a family livestock farm in Ayrshire. The farm consisted of 500 finising cattle and 10000 laying hens. In the last three years in this position I was responable for selection of cattle on a weekly basis. Oct.1988-Nov.1990.Assistant stockman with the DE CRESPIGNY herd of pedigree Charolais. Nov.1990-March 1997. Stockman for the Lowerhope Herd of pedigree Herefords. Based on the Lowerhope Estate ,a mixed farming enterprise of potatoes, fruit cereals and commercial and pedigree beef. In this position I took the herd to national prominence showing through out Southern England, and led out the Hereford champion at the Royal Show twice. March1997-Nov.2008. Approached by Mr. L.D.Walker to take on the running of the Mollington Angus Herd. Mr Walker ran a national meat business and had a 250 acre farm near Banbury. I had responsibility of running this all grass farm making all farming decisions . Nov2008- Present. Head stockman with 400 suckler cows.
