CV Headline

I currently volunteer on a large sheep farm which has 3,000 sheep. I help doing most things at the farm, this includes checking round fields on all sheep looking for any ill health such as lameness and flystrike. I am able to drive a quad bike as well as a gator to travel around easily. I clean out the troughs within the fields and check if there is constant supply of clean water. I help to move sheep to different fields, working alongside 3 sheep dogs which I enjoy as my dream is to have my own working sheepdog. I help during shearing season by collecting the wool and rolling and also moving sheep into the holding pen. During lambing season I helped with bedding up the pens, feeding and giving water, checking the outside holding areas for new born lambs and bringing them inside when needed as well as assisting with the birth if needed. I am also able to check both ewes and lambs for any signs of ill health or problems during birth and give any treatment needed such as watery mouth or just not being to suckle from the ewe and I can assist by tube or bottle feeding the lamb. I have also helped with vaccinating, worming and foot trimming and using pour on solutions such as Crovect.
