I worked on a dairy farm with a 50/100 herringbone parlour. My main experience here was the rearing and upkeep of young stock, however I did do milkings. I've got small experience with sheep having worked with them quite a lot in college but I would require more training in this area. I currently work on a farm park where I have gained a little more experience with sheep. We have around 60 ewes which I helped lamb a few of. I did a lambing course early in 2018 through Tyndale vets. I still require more experience in this sector but am keen and willing to learn

Accomplishments During my time in this job, as well as experience from college, I have learned to successfully and safely administer medicines to cattle. I also have a some experience in sheep though my college qualification. I have also received training in the correct way to tag calves and was trained to safely and hygienic remove supernumerary teats from new born calves Before I started this job I wasn't qualified to AI cattle, during work based training I was sent on a course through Tyndale vets to obtain The artificial insemination of cattle (animal welfare) (England and Wales) regulations 1985 (as amended) qualification, which means I am competent with respect to welfare and hygiene to undertake insemination without direct veterinary supervision using the method taught on the course. My current responsibilities  are making sure that all pens are clean and tidy for the animals, ensuring they have sufficient hay and clean water readily available and plenty of clean dry bedding in their shelters. I have occasionally done some stock work here such as injecting some lambs and sheep. Worming the horses donkeys and reindeer and tubing a cow for mastitis

Hobbies

I like to socialise. I was a member of usk yfc in which occasionally enjoyed taking part in competitions. I like to draw and paint in my free time sometimes, I find it relaxing.
