Competent, capable and reliable tractor driver and machinery operator looking to for harvest work on arable or mixed farm/contracting business on mainland. Grew up on family farm driving tractors and machinery,  previous experience mostly grassland with self propelled silage team, foraging, mowing, raking and telehandler/loading shovel clamp/pit work though also spent  harvest 2015, 2016 and 2017 with West Sussex contractor raking grass and straw, various topping, loading/carting straw bales, grain, beans and maize.  Also spent 2017 harvest on 30t grain chaser bin and cambs rolls when over.  I am really keen to further my experience with arable work and have ability to learn quickly and enjoy the long hours doing any job. also have good ability to repair/weld and keep machines going.

Other equipment experience

Lifetime on tractors of all makes and sizes up to 250HP, and my own New Holland tractor and Manitou tele-handler. Previously ran seasonal silage and slurry contracting business with brother for 15 years. Worked all 2014 year for local contractor mainly slurry and completed all grass raking for SPFH on Kuhn 30ft rake. Also worked from start August 2015 until Nov 2015 for a Contractors in West Sussex carting and stacking bales, carting grain and maize in 18t Warwick trailers also wood-chip, muck/compost with Western spreaders also done all raking with 30ft Claas and 6 rotor tedder and some cultivation sub-soiling, 15m camb rolling. Also used Claas 50ft rake for self propelled silage. Spent 2017 harvest on 315 Case and 30ton chaser bin unloading to artic lorries.

Grew up on small 25ha family Dairy/beef farm on heavy land, reared calves to follow on or for beef off grass, also worked with pigs for nearby large unit. Changed to all beef from own suckler herd of 30 continental cross cows selling earliest bull calves off cows and rest retained for grass some heifers sold once bred. Able to perform most tasks including de-horning (anaesthetic) squeezing, foot trim and trained A.I, etc. Good calving experience and aware of critically important early calf life. Regularly achieved top sale prices for quality stock.

Other Information

Whilst at Agricultural College won the workshop project for constructing tractor scraper and prize for written project. Good people skills and team player, also know importance of being professional and achieving customer satisfaction.

Yes wife who works full time and four children mostly grown up. Two young sons carrying on farming (only when have to..)

Farming background

As above, grew up on small family suckler farm and worked on large mixed farm so always worked with livestock and machinery completing all jobs around the farm during the year. Also constructed number of underground concrete tanks and cattle sheds. Good basic mechanic and at DIY and I enjoy fitting into any team and will get on with all people one way or another.
