At lambing time I have worked both confidently independent and within a team. I have worked day and night lambing jobs caring for both ewes and lambs including assisting in trouble lambings, administering medication and colostrum administering via tubing. In these jobs I also used electronic lambing systems. I am confident and calm around the stock with a quick and keen eye for any problems that may occur. I have also reared lambs from birth to fully weaned. I have been solely responsible for up to 250 kaide lambs and solely responsible for all lamb tailing and castrations. Dairy/Beef - I have 2 years previous experience working on dairy farms ranging from 180-250 herds milking twice a day in HB parlours with either grazing or housed all year round. I have confidently milked independently and within a team. I have been responsible for calf rearing under orders from birth to fully weaned. I have also assisted in vet visits, administering medication and other basic husbandry. I understand the importance of high hygiene standards when milking and quick identification of problems within the herd. I have assisted in trouble calving situations. I have also assisted in the husbandry of a 200 head beef suckler herd. Other stock experience - In college I gained experience volunteering on the college pig unit, I also have experience with caring for goats, horses, donkeys and small animals as I spent a year working on a farm park.
