Worked in Lincolnshire operating New Holland CR 10.90 combine during harvest 2017, then on cultivation up to end of October.  Cut 1500 ha of Rape, Winter and Spring Wheat and Winter Beans with CR10.90, then was operating 550 Quadtrac on 6m Solo as well as Avadexing/rolling etc. I was there over busy cultivation/drilling period last autumn operating mainly Case Quadtrac 550 pulling 10 furrow Gregoire Besson plough, 8m Vaderstad Rexius and 5 leg Subsoiler. Also performed tasks such as discing, rolling and slug pelleting. Completed 2016 harvest operating Cat Challenger/Claas Axion 850 pulling 24 ton Western Chaser Bin. In Saudi I operated 9000 series Deeres w 8m Horsch/Carrier. Have driven most makes of modern tractor including New Holland Tm/Tsa/T6 series, John Deere 6000/7000/8000/9000 series, Fendt 416/700/900 series, Massey Ferguson 6400 series, Cat Challenger and Case Puma/Magnum/Optum/Quadtrac tractors. Spent 6 months in New Zealand working for a contractor where I spent around 4 months on John Deere 7830 working a Pottinger Torro 5700 silage wagon. Also have experience in jobs such as mowing, raking, ploughing, cultivating and some buck raking. Completed two harvest seasons and autumn cultivations on 2000 acre cereal farm in Berkshire. Tasks included grain cart, combine harvesting with Lexion 770 and 40ft header, cultivating with 4.5m Discordon or Kockerling on Challenger MT 765D, cultivating with 12m Kverneland tine cultivator on a l Fendt 930, Cambridge rolling and maintenance. Relief driving for silage contractors at home driving MF 6480 with 16t Kane half pipe. Worked for 3 years at a grain mill so have experience operating Manitou shovel as well as 20 tonne batch/continuous grain dryer. At Pattersons Contracts I drove a wide range of machines doing various tasks such as pulling 10 tonne stone carts, driving Moxy 6 wheel dumpers, rotovating, laser-grading, dump-trailer work etc. Carried out basic repairs and maintenance on machines.

Worked as relief Milker on herd of 200 spring calving Jersey cross cows. Did all feeding/bedding for all stock and also shifting fences, dosing etc. worked for 2 months in New Zealand for a dairy farm milking 450 cows through a 50 point rotary. Main tasks were milking, feeding out, shifting irrigators and shifting fence breaks. Some sheep experience gained on home farm were we used to have 100 texel cross ewes lambing at Christmas. Employer in New Zealand had 800 ewes so gained some experience mainly shifting them and working in the sheep yards. Have cattle experience gained at home as we used to finish store cattle, mainly Limousine.I also reared bull calves to finishing up until I went to England.

Farming background

I come from a small arable farm in County Down Northern Ireland. We grow winter and spring barley and some winter wheat. We also over-winter some store cattle and bucket rear some calves.. We sell all grain off the combine and also make and sell small square and round bale straw. Completed two harvest seasons and autumn cultivations on 2000 acre arable farm in Berkshire, and worked for around 7 months in New Zealand for a contractor and for a dairy farmer for the last 6 weeks. Worked for a year and a half on large scale arable farm in Saudi Arabia, and completed 2016 harvest season at 4000 acre farm in Norfolk. Currently employed by Haverholme estate near Sleaford during the last Autumn cultivations period and Harvest/Drilling 2017.


I used to play Rugby for a local club before injuries and work commitments stopped me. Enjoy spending time with friends and family. Travelling is also a passion of mine an have been lucky enough to see a lot of the world so far.
