Farming backgroundGrew up on large mixed farm in East Yorkshire with grandparents,grandfather was sheperd to 1200 breeding ewes ,became assistant stockman on leaving school in 1982,in 1986 became stockman to 250 sucklers producing store cattle also assisting with arable at busy times,in 2001 I moved to become livestock manager at Millington grange with full responsibility for 110 sucklers producing finished cattle, 80 pure limousin,s to produce show and sale teams under high health herd staus and using embryo transfer,full responsibility for grassland and forage crop management and all associated record keeping,also to manage 500 breeding ewes to produce finished lambs of grass, drysone walling maintenance.when the estae was sold I moved to manage 150 South devon cattle with again full responsibility for herd management.For the last two years I have been stockman to 1000 red deer .
