Full time opportunity in one of the UKs largest and oldest Vineyards in Maldon, Essex.
We are a family run business, established in 1969 with 100 acres of vines of over 14 different varieties. Our wines are made on site by our resident winemakers and have one numerous awards to date. Due to expansion and promotion within the business, we are looking for a Vineyard assistant to join our small dedicated hardworking team.

Candidate requirements and responsibilities:
Principal responsibilities in this position (full training will be provided if required)
• Manual viticulture practices - maintaining vineyards and surrounding areas (winter pruning, canopy management, bud rubbing, crop thinning etc.)
• Machinery operations, mowing, trimming, cultivation, spraying, etc.
• Harvest estimating yields, bunch counting, preparing harvest equipment, supervising pickers and fruit assessment.
• Trellising installation, repairs and ongoing maintenance.
• Other farm/estate and winery work during quieter periods of the Viticulture season.
The applicant should be punctual and positive, willing to learn, with an ability to follow instruction accurately. Additionally, the applicant must also be able to work alone, be comfortable working outside and be of sound physical condition for manual work including heavy lifting.
There is also a requirement to help with general maintenance of the estate therefore experience of basic DIY/Horticultural practices is preferable but not essential.
The successful candidate will work very closely with the vineyard manager and the right applicant could have the opportunity to train as an assistant manager in future. Tractor driving/machinery experience or previous vineyard experience is preferable.
