Stockperson to run a Beef Suckler Herd

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced mature person to run a 70 head Beef Suckler herd on a busy mixed farm based in Reigate, Surrey farming 1100 acres.

We run a spring calving herd of 70 homebred Simmental cross cows, run Simmental and Angus bulls. We pride ourselves on the laid back attitude of our herd.

Duties and responsibilities include;

• Calving, experience essential


• Undertaking all animal health rolls from vaccinations to treating sick animals


• Good record keeping


• Arranging any vet, foot trimming visits etc


• Managing feeding


• General farm work such as bedding up, scraping yards, fencing, daily checking of cattle at grass in the summer months


• Tractor driving, including silage work, hay making, harvest and cultivations etc

The successful candidate:

• Able to work well in a team


• Motivated and have a good eye for detail


• Must have calving experience


• Some tractor driving experience would be a bonus


• Telehandler ticket would be an advantage but not essential
