The job offers a sprayer & drill operator an opportunity to work in a family business that provides farming services to 6 family farms over 1500 acres in North Lincolnshire which have interests in regenerative and conservation agriculture.

Cropping includes wheat, barley, oilseed rape, linseed, beans, herbage seed & herbal leys.

There is a commercial lambing flock of 150 ewes, a small flock of pedigree Beltex & run store lambs on herbage seed harvest aftermath.

The successful candidate will be joining a small team but will also be required to work independently being involved in all aspects of commercial arable farming, especially crop estalishment with the 6 metre Weaving Sabre Tine drill, 4 metre John Deere 750A & 8 metre Weaving Stubble Rake. Most spring cropping is after over wintered cover crops & some tillage is employed using a 4 metre Weaving Topsoiler & a 5 metre Vaderstad Carrier. The crop sprayer is a 32 metre trailed Chafer 5000 litre Sentry machine upgraded with a Greenstar rate controller which is used for both chemical and biological applications including liquid fertilisers.

Other work would include some tillage, loading grain lorries, cleaning grain stores, leading muck & turning compost. Harvest work includes; carting from or operating the chaser bin, loading stores/pushing up & grassland work including mowing & raking. It is possible that there will be some involvement with the shepherding.
