Senior Pig Stockperson for a farm in Co. Cavan, Ireland

The Pig Unit Dry Sows Stockperson will assist in the day-to-day management of the Dry Sow House section in a 900 sow breeding to finish pig unit.

Key responsibilities:

• Daily duties of sow management


• Services of sows and gilts through AI


• Maintain the flow of sows for farrowing


• Vaccinations


• Sow performance


• Assist and coordinate with the day-to-day recording and performance to identify avenues to improve health and wellbeing

Person specifications:

• Ideally, 3 years of pig farming experience


• Interest in the pig industry


• High welfare standards


• Great communication skills

Salary: €33,000-€35,000 DOE + accommodation

Hours:

• Mon-Thurs: 8-5pm


• Friday: 8am-2pm


• Sat/Sun (every second weekend): 3 hours
