Pig stockperson for a farm in Somerset (BA6)

We have an indoor 400-sow farrow-to-finish pig unit and are looking for an experienced pig stockperson to work primarily with the breeding sows.

We farrow weekly; all pigs are on a dry feed system. We mix all our own feed using locally grown materials. We have a mixture of straw-housed pigs and slatted pigs.

The ideal candidate will have the following:

• Experience working with pigs, ability to AI is essential


• Enthusiasm and a desire to work in the Pig Industry


• High welfare standards and attention to detail


• Ideally, tractor and telehandler experience, but applicants can learn on the job

Hours: 07:00 - 17:00 during the week; Early starts of 05:30 - 18:00 on days pigs are going; Alternate weekends 07:00 - 12:00

Salary: £35,000 DOE

Accommodation is unavailable, so local candidates must be able to commute to BA6.
